Hadyn has been writing the column Field Theory for Public Address since 2008. In essence he writes about sport but his unique view on it extracts social meaning beyond the game.
Hadyn has an honours degree in mathematics and a strong background in information analysis. Unlike many sport columnists he likes to analyse and work on statistics rather than simply report raw numbers.
A few years ago Hadyn was given a book of sports reporting from the 1920s to 2000 and has since styled his work on long form classical reporting. In this style the journalist is part of the story acting on behalf of the reader with the subject. It's not a common style but does make for easily readable and emotive articles.
